Objective To explore the effect of high fluoride status on related endocrine glands and its relationship with hormone levels. Methods The epidemiological case-control study method was used to determine the content of serum pituitary, thyroid and gonadal hormones in the experimental animal Kunming mice and people in the high fluoride area to observe the relationship between high fluoride and related endocrine glands in the above groups . Results With the increase of the dose of fluoride, the levels of serum thyrotropin (TSH), thyroxine (T4), and estradiol (E2) in the experimental young rats decreased in a dose-dependent manner, and the high-dose group (500 mg/LNaF) was significantly Lower than the control group (P<0.05). The testosterone (T) content of adult males in the high fluoride area was significantly reduced (P<0.05), while the levels of luteinizing hormone (LH) and follicle stimulating hormone (FSH) secreted by the pituitary increased (P<0.05) ; Serum LH, FSH, E2, P content of female population is lower than that of control population, while LH, E2 level is significantly reduced (P <0.05). Conclusion High fluoride state can interfere with the secretory function of endocrine glands such as the pituitary gland, thyroid gland, and gonads. The effect of fluoride on the secretory function of the body can be passed to the offspring through reproductive processes, which can lead to damage to the offspring.
