DuPont receives EPA approval for new fungicide

The News Journal - September 2, 2015

DuPont has received approval from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency to market a new fungicide.

The product, Zorvec, will help farmers eliminate and control diseases on potatoes, grapes, vegetables and other specialty crops. It is part of a new class of fungicides focused on disease control, DuPont said in an announcement.

Regulatory approval of Zorvec is currently pending in Mexico, China and Australia. DuPont expects the product to be cleared in those countries with a launch scheduled for later this year.

Syngenta, Greensboro, North Carolina, agriculture company, has received the license to develop products containing the fungicide oxathiapiprolin, the lead ingredient in Zorvec. Syngenta will have the exclusive rights for the use of Zorvec in soil and crops throughout the United States.
