Centre grants Rs 3.39 crore to Tamil Nadu for improving water quality
New Delhi, Aug 17: The Centre has sanctioned Rs 3.39 crore to Tamil Nadu to help the state improve its potable water quality.
This is the first installment of the Centre's share to Tamil Nadu to address the problem of fluoride in water in these habitations.
The Centre is estimated to bear Rs 7.53 crore of the total Rs 10.34 crore of the project to address the problem in 306 habitations of the state.
The project, taken up after February 2006, comes under 'Bharat Nirman' programme of the UPA government.
