82 crore sought for tackling rural water scarcity

BIJAPUR: Karnataka Food and Civil Supplies Minister Govind Karjol has urged the State government to earmark Rs 82 crore in the next budget to tackle the drinking water scarcity in rural areas
Talking to mediapersons here, he said that the groundwater table was depleting every year, worsening the situation. He said that 21,000 villages in the State were facing acute water shortage.
Fluoride content in water is another main problem in over 10,000 villages.
